This is on Loop....

Olympic Awe

"The isle is full of noises,
Sounds, and sweet airs that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices
That, if I then had waked after long sleep,
Will make me sleep again. And then, in dreaming,
The clouds methought would open and show riches
Ready to drop upon me, that when I waked
I cried to dream again."
Caliban, The Tempest

Excitement took over...

Undoubtedly you're all still reeling from the incredible opening ceremony. Be honest, how many times did you come over all glassy-eyed? What was your favourite bit?
I adored it all – from HM The Queen saying "Good Evening Mr Bond" to Daniel Craig (you got seriously lucky with that Bond, Ma'am) to the Child Catcher scarily prowling the stadium; from the Arctic Monkey's cover of Come Together to the fireworks which left me breathless, it was all just incredible. And The Olympic Torch was unbelievable; so beautiful.
Before we've even run a race, picked up an oar or dipped a toe in the pool, we should all be very proud. Mr Danny Boyle and your team, congratulations, you've just written history. X

Olympic Blackout

Was one very lucky girl last night and took the train/Tube/DLR/good-old-fashioned-walking down to London to see the Olympic Ceremony Rehearsal for tomorrow night. One word. AWESOME. You're all in for a serious treat.

But I'm not allowed to tell you anything about it... #savethesurprise

Wow Wang

Want all the clothes; not sure I could cope with that painfully cool fringe in my face.

I'll take a Magnum not a Bottle

The Audi International Test Match at Guards was glorious! After weeks/months/what-seems-like-years of rain, we actually had a proper English summers' day to gloat about. And the polo was pretty good too. Well done England for winning The Coronation Cup three years on the trot, but those South African boys (boys being the operative word as they're all under 25!) almost had you!
I always think the International day is a little bittersweet as many of the high goal guys have already disappeared to Deauville or Sotogrande and although there's still at least 6 weeks of polo left here, it does have the touch of back-to-school about it. Must be why everyone parties like loons then? 'Til next year. Besos X

Kicking it off!

The boots make this. Very cool, girl

Rev Up For The Audi International

Big Fashion day tomorrow in the polo world. It's the Audi International (formerly known simply as Cartier) at Guards Polo Club and an opportunity to watch the highest level polo in Europe and see England take on South Africa. Come along. Tickets are still available (call the ticket office: 01784 437797).
The event sort of marks the end of the high goal season so everyone is keen for a party and to dress up to do so. Therefore I may even wriggle out of the standard uniform of jeans-plus-statement-blazer and embrace the first rays of summer (21st July is a tad late, Chief). So weather-dependant I'm taking a new Kooples dress out for a spin. I'll turn the candid on myself and will take some snaps tomorrow but in the meantime here's some inspiration from polos' past.
Time to play dress up.

Paradise Found

Keith Richards and Pattis Hansen's place in the Turks and Caicos actually looks like bliss. I think they have room for a small one. A definite Charley-shaped hole for little ole me to join them on their family holiday. I love the buena onda of the entire shoot, Theodora's long blonde beach waves, Keefs' megawatt smile and all the fantastic jewellery. Yes, I think I'd fit in to this little scene very well indeed.

“When you have the whole ensemble, the whole dynasty down there, the house is just shaking; everything’s going all the time,” says Theodora. She’s describing Richards-family gatherings on the North Caribbean island of Parrot Cay—a succession of sun-soaked beach days, fiercely competitive games of Mexican Train dominoes, and a cappella performances around the fire pit. Keith plays the benevolent patriarch, and Patti Hansen rules the roost. “You always have someone to hang out with, always have something to do,” says Theodora. “Your imagination just runs wild.”

To Dior For

You can barely open a magazine without seeing Mila Kunis at the moment, she really is the current media darling. But her latest campaign for Dior, shot by Mario Sorennti and styled by Miss Cool herself, Carine Roitfeld is worth seeing. Beautiful.
